From the recording The End Of It All

Lennie

Lyrics

We used to see the sun
Feel the wind blow through our hair.
watch the stars and moon at night
And breathe the cool fresh air

Now these things are gone
Existing just as memories
the grass, water, and blue sky
parks and lakes and trees.

What did we know before we ruined it all?
Was there a chance for us to dodge this catastrophic fall?

I miss the natural world
The sound of leaves up in the trees
The flight of birds when taking wing
the buzzing of the bees

Everything has changed
All that we once loved has passed
No greenery, sun or stars, just emptiness so vast

I don’t know what we were thinking of
We weren’t reflecting on our earth
When push came down to shove

But this is now our home
Dark and empty, hard to love
Natural in its own harsh way
But nothing like the world above

It’s a mighty chore
not to feel complete despair
But come to see this world we have
As a place for which we care
